Class FAQs

What is the cost for a class?
Most classes are $38pp for adults and $25 for anyone under 18, but you can find the exact cost when you select an image from the calendar under Upcoming Classes.

What time does the class start?
Again, most start at 7:15pm, but that’s not always the case, so to find the exact time click on Upcoming Calendar.

It says doors open 30 minutes early. Do I have to get there that early?
No. We open the door 30 minutes early to allow people extra time to socialize and get situated. When we have large classes (which you will be able to recognize by a low “Seats Remaining” number on the registration page or if it’s sold out), however, we recommend getting there as close to when the doors open as possible because seating is first come first serve.

Can I reserve spots for our entire group?
Yes and no. We allow you to reserve seats for your entire group as long as they all arrive by the time class starts, at which time we ask that you give up any spots you’ve reserved that don’t have someone sitting in them to people who are at the studio.

What To Expect At The Studio

What supplies do you provide for class?
We supply everything you need for a class but the bubbly: a canvas, acrylic paint, brushes, etc.
If we offer a special class, we will indicate if you need to bring additional supplies in the class description.

What should I?
We provide knee-length aprons, but since paint can damage your clothing, we think it's best to wear something you wouldn't mind with an additional color or two.

What type of beverage can I bring to drink?
We are a BYOB, so you can bring any type of beverage that you like, as long as you can verify your age. We also have a complimentary water cooler and soda for sale.

Will you have wine openers and cups?
For your convenience, we do have wine and bottle openers as well as cups and glasses.

Can we bring food?
Snacks are welcome, but the space is limited to the area around your canvas.

Company Policies

What is your cancellation policy?
We limit the number of painters for our classes because of the size of the studio & we want to create the best experience for our guests. If you have signed up for one of our classes, and you cannot attend for any reason, you will be granted a full refund as long as you notify us at least 48 hours before the start of the class. That will give us a chance to contact other interested guests who may be able to attend in your place.

In the event that you need to cancel, reschedule, or modify a class registration on notice of less than 48 hours (but not less than 6 hours), we cannot refund your money, but we will issue you a voucher for a future class without penalty. If you cancel, reschedule, or modify less than 6 hours before the start of the class, or if you fail to attend without notice, then your credit card will be charged as we are unable to replace you with other guests.

What time do I need to arrive for a class?
We open the doors 30 minutes before class. We recommend getting there at least 10 minutes early to get acclimated before the fun starts! Arriving late to class can disrupt the flow of instruction, and limits how much fun you'll have, so if you arrive after the start time we will ask you to reschedule.

What is the age requirement for class?
Social Painting classes and Open Studio are for big kids. That being said, we understand that many families have aspiring artists under their roof, so children under 18 are kindly asked to be accompanied by an adult if attending a Tipsy Painting class. Young Monets can also check out our Tipsy Kids classes.

Do we have to tip the artist?
Although it is by no means necessary, if you feel that you would like to tip one of our artists at Tipsy Paint, they greatly appreciate recognizing their hard work.

Do I need to sign up in advance? Yes. We have limited seating and want our artists to concentrate on what they do best. So, to make their life easier we make sure they know exactly how many people they’ll be leading ahead of time.

When does the new schedule come out?
We post the schedule six weeks in advance. Join our email list to get a sneak peek of the monthly calendar via email a few days before the online posting.

I missed a painting that I really want to paint! How often will you repeat paintings?
If you let us know, we will keep this in mind when scheduling the next month’s paintings!

What happens if the weather is bad on the night I am registered to paint?
The studio will be open if classes are scheduled. We will contact everyone on the list via e-mail and/or phone you provide if we need to close the studio and we will post all closings on the home page of the website. If we close the studio due to inclement weather, you will not be charged for class.
